Hello, I’m Melissa, a California native, audience development expert and CEO of Twenty-First Digital operating in Dallas, TX. I’ve been described as ambitious, infectiously passionate, characteristically curious, a smidge— OK, super— nerdy.

I studied communications at the University of North Texas, and have since made my mark as an audience development leader for prominent brands, including Portland Monthly, Seattle Met, D Magazine, and D Custom.

As your audience development mentor, I’ll take a deep-dive into your digital strategies and audience development efforts to help you find no-nonsense ways to effectively drive traffic and supercharge interactions with your audience for tangible and lasting results. Consider my services a secret weapon to creating brand communities.

Ashley Mulder, Senior Audience Strategist

Hey! I'm Ashley. I'm a Michigan native currently living in Dallas, Texas. I graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan (go Knights!) where I studied Communications and Journalism. I have been in publishing for over ten years working with city and regional magazines such as Hour Detroit, D Business, D Magazine, D Home and more. During my time with these publications I developed my passion for data-driven marketing and honed my skills as a consumer marketer.

As an audience strategist and COO at Twenty-First Digital, I help brands integrate systems, data, and staff efficiently and economically. After building the necessary technical and personnel infrastructure, I then work with brands to establish practices and processes to attract, convert and sell their products to their customers.

Natalie PaschalL



Hi! I'm Natalie. A Texas native, currently based in Dallas. I'm a right-brain problem solver with a little splash of creativity. I enjoy digging into data and finding patterns. At the University of Texas I studied biology and math, where I became one of the resident experts on identifying tadpoles.

I've spent my professional life in Dallas, working for advertising agencies both big and small, which has allowed me to dive deep into digital marketing campaign strategy and execution. I have worn many hats and have managed everything from pay-per-click campaigns, content marketing and management, social media advertising, and SEO strategies.

Most recently, I managed the marketing insights and strategy efforts for Calise Partners. I worked with offline and online marketing teams to visualize data for actionable insights to refine and identify more efficient targeting strategies.

I'm super passionate about refining and improving marketing strategy, specifically with insights into human behavior. Additionally, I enjoy digesting, analyzing, and communicating data results with clients to help improve understanding.



Chelsey Shockley, Audience Strategist

Hi there! I’m Chelsey. A Dallas native living in New York City. I studied anthropology and sociology at Texas Tech University, where I spent a semester with an archaeology group in Belize on a whim and wound up digging up breathtaking structures in an ancient Maya city still buried in the rainforest over the next four years.

When I returned to Dallas, I accepted a position at D Magazine, where I grew to develop strategies and calendars for editorial marketing programs and rolled them out to our editorial, marketing, and sales teams. I proposed, built, and executed everything from audience acquisition campaigns, to event promotion materials. Writing blog content along the way. After over six years at D Magazine, I packed my bags (and my French bulldog, Gus) to move to New York City and serve as chief of staff for Neuro-Insight, a consumer marketing agency that utilizes brain mapping technology to optimize campaign assets.

I’m a curiosity-driven data nerd with a passion for understanding how people build relationships through simple everyday interactions and deep thoughtful communications. I believe that effective audience development is the backbone of your brand. I’ll help you find your tribe and teach you how to keep them engaged through smart, soulful strategy.



Hello, I'm Brandi! I have over 19 years of experience in audience development which widely ranges from administration, budgeting and management to newsstand, direct mail and e-campaigns. I've worked with publications across the country including, Texas MonthlyAtlanta magazine, and most recently Chicago magazine.

I am a dynamic communicator and am passionate about creating opportunities for audience engagement, stability, and growth through market analysis, forecasting and acquisition. 

I graduated from Texas State University - San Marcos and currently reside in Hammond, Indiana with my husband and 2-year-old beautiful boy.



Lauren Frappier, Digital Marketing Manager

Hi there! I'm Lauren. A Dallas native currently living in Norman, Oklahoma. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 2013, I accepted a position at D Magazine as their research editor. In that role, I coordinated the publication’s in-house professional service lists like, Best Doctors, Lawyers, Dentists, Realtors—and nearly 20 more. 

Additionally, I worked under D CEOD Magazine’s award-winning business publication, as an associate editor. I launched the inaugural Dallas 500, an annual ancillary pub that features personal interviews from 500 of the most powerful executives in Dallas/Fort Worth. This unique, never-been-done-before publication has proven to be a success among publishers, advertisers, and readers alike.

After leaving D Magazine in 2016, I moved back to Oklahoma (my husband started law school at the University of Oklahoma College of Law) and joined the public affairs team at OU. There, I helped guide the university’s strategic communication tactics, writing news releases, statements, and speeches for OU’s president and executive officers.
